L. Timmel DuChamp has posted her guest of honor speech for WisCon 32. This is one of the best speeches I’ve heard given at the convention, and very little of it really has to do with science fiction. It is much more about her story and a few of her college experiences that have left a lasting impression on who she is and why she’s working to make a better world, and what that world will look like.
For those of you looking for an intro into her writing, I highly recommend Love’s Body Dancing in Time as an introduction. It’s my favorite of her writing.
I wish everyone who reads this could have heard the speech given, as she is an excellent public speaker, but it stands on its own in any case.
